Children's and Teens Sewing Classes

We offer group classes, as well as private and semi-private classes:

Group classes

Our class size is max. 6 students.

In our weekly sewing classes students learn a new skill with each project. We start with a drawstring backpack and move on to pyjama pants, a simple top and more. We are using a curriculum from the Kids Sewing Company, a tried and tested Canadian company. As students advance, they will learn to sew a hoodie, t-shirt and sweatpants with knit fabrics and eventually move on to using commercial patterns of their choice.

Our classes are suitable for beginners and students with sewing experience ages 7-16.

Weekly classes can be joined mid-term if there are spaces available. Fees will be pro-rated.

Winter term is running up to March 8, 2024. Class times are the same as in the spring term. If you would like to join a winter term class please click here to find your class or contact us.

Spring term classes start March 18, 2024 and run for 13 weeks (11 weeks for Monday classes) to June 14, 2024. To register scroll down to the schedule for group classes and click on your desired class time.

Weekly Private and Semi-private Classes 

Ages: 7 - 16 years

Classes are 1 hour in length.

We offer private adult classes that are individually tailored to your needs.

Do you have a sewing machine at home but have not used it in a while and would like a refresher to get you back to sewing? Maybe you have a new sewing machine and would like to learn how to use its features, or you have never used a sewing machine before and simply would like to learn the basics – in an adult class you choose what you would like to learn.

You can book adult classes with a friend, make it a Mother and Daughter event or book a group of up to 5 participants.

Adult classes are arranged at a mutually convenient time. Fees for 2024 are $41.00 (+HST)/hour for 1 person, $36.00 (+HST)/hour/person for a group of 2-5. Please contact us to arrange a class.

Our PA day classes run from 10.00am – 4.00pm, extended care is available.

Ages: 7+ years.

During a PA day class, we sew a project that is suitable both for beginners and students with sewing experience (some exceptions). Projects are often seasonal. The project cost is included in the price.

Monster Pencil Case or Pencilshaped Pencil Case

In this PA day class we are learning how to sew a unique pencil case. Students can choose between sewing a pencil case that looks like a pencil or one that looks like a friendly monster.
